I’m pleased to announce that I was selected as a New Leaders Council Fellow for 2013. I’m looking forward to their curriculum and an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, making a difference in our communities. From their website:

New Leaders Council (NLC) works to train and promote the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow — trendsetters, elected officials and civically-engaged leaders in business and industry who will shape the future landscape. NLC recruits young men and women from outside traditional power structures and equips them with the skills necessary to be civic leaders in their communities and workplaces. Our mission is realized primarily through the NLC Institute; the nation’s premiere political entrepreneurship training program that is building teams of outstanding young professionals in 20 cities across the country. NLC graduates are an ever-expanding corps of diverse, new progressive leaders who are rising to the top of their respective fields. NLC is creating an exciting network of individuals, highly-skilled in working together across sectors to improve the progressive infrastructure and ensure strong democracy, social justice, and equal opportunity.

Also, I’m pleased to announce that I was named a Top 100 Web-Savvy Professor for 2012, by BestOnlineUniversities.com. From the CEO of the company:

We work hard every day to promote the use of communication technology on the web for the improvement of education opportunities. We noticed that you’re active on the web and that you use online media to provide extra value to your students and the broader online community of learners. This is our way of saying “Thanks, and keep up the good work!”
