Cibola and The Firehouse: Two 10,000 square feet centers of opportunity

I’m beyond thrilled to have an opportunity to lead two major centers of economic development and opportunity for two different areas of the city of Chicago: Pilsen and North Lawndale. I’m thrilled to work with so many great people to create these institutions we hope will spark economic development in communities that need it the most.

With Cibola, we are weeks away from launching our technology and entrepreneurship incubator, located in the Pilsen area of Chicago. In what I call a “playground of entrepreneurship”, we have a 10,000 square foot facility where we will host co-working space, conference rooms, classes, workshops, and other exciting items we’ll be announcing soon. I can’t wait.

In another 10,000 square foot facility in the North Lawndale community of Chicago, we’ll be opening up our first 21st Century Youth Project center, , in partnership with The House Development Corporation, opening in the spring of 2013. The Firehouse Community Arts Center will accommodate over 200 students a day. More announcements to come soon, but this is a major step forward for our organization.
