
This Saturday, I’ll be the Keynote speaker at the Young and Powerful Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to civic engagement and train young professionals to serve disadvantaged communities. I’m thrilled to be a part of their Brunch Series, and impart some of my experience as an educator, and talk more about the mission of the 21st Century Youth Project and the Chicago International Social Change Film Festival. The focus of my speech will focus on minorities and tech entrepreneurship, and make a call to action for everyone in the room to find more ways to help us on our mission, but also, explain that we are at a critical point in history, where computer programming is the new literacy. I’ll be pulling in a significant amount of data and insight from my Crain’s Op-Ed, and providing an avenue where those that are inspired to act, can.
